Plainfield East High School humanities division social studies teacher Kady Fairfield Meneses will participate in the prestigious Transatlantic Educators Dialogue (TED) Program at the University of Illinois.

The TED Program is a unique opportunity for educators in the United States and Europe to come together online for shared exploration and examination of various educational topics.

Fairfield Meneses will spend the next 10 weeks in a peer learning network, building global competency skills.

New resource aims to boost love of reading

At District 202, we’re committed to nurturing a love for learning and supporting literacy initiatives across our schools. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Beanstack, a dynamic new platform that transforms reading into an adventure for our students!

With Beanstack, students will embark on a journey filled with fun and motivation, thanks to gamification, competition, and well-deserved recognition. Whether your student enjoys diving into thrilling fiction, exploring fascinating nonfiction, or flipping through graphic novels and online articles, every word they read matters.

Through daily reading logs on Beanstack’s web or mobile app, students can:

  • Unlock digital badges for milestones achieved

  • Climb leaderboards and build daily reading streaks

  • Create a personal virtual bookshelf to track their reading journey
