Board of Education meeting Wednesday

The District 202 Board of Education will meet in regular session on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the District Administration Center, 15732 Howard St., Plainfield.

The board opens the meeting at 6:30 p.m. and then immediately goes into closed session until about 7:30 p.m.

Remembering Tom Hernandez

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church, 2650 Plainfield Road, Joliet, for Tom Hernandez.

Hernandez, the longtime Director of Community Relations, passed away on April 15, 2024.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Glenn Wood said Hernandez was a thoughtful, caring person, who represented District 202 proudly and professionally.

“Hernandez’s legacy is one of compassion and community. He will be deeply missed.”

CAPE honors 95 at annual awards

The District 202 CAPE parent organization recognized 95 outstanding parents, community members, teachers, and staff members for their dedication to students, their schools, and the community at the 48th annual CAPE awards night on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Plainfield High School-Central Campus.
