The Plainfield High School-Central Campus Wind Ensemble will perform at the SuperState Concert Band Festival at the University of Illinois.

The group performs at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.

Six District 202 high school juniors will experience their personal summer learning adventures thanks to the Plainfield Foundation for Excellence.

The Foundation awarded 2024 Horizon Grants to the six students to help pay for summer learning enrichment experiences that broaden their academic horizons and explore areas of interest.

Plainfield North High School senior Dylan Budd is the 2024 Illinois High School Association journalism sports writing champion.

Budd earned first place in the Sports Writing category at the IHSA state journalism competition held on April 26, 2024, at Heartland Community College. He also competed in Review Writing.

In all, 20 student journalists from Plainfield North, Plainfield East, Plainfield South high schools, and Plainfield High School – Central Campus participated in the state events.
